Data can change the world for the better. It accelerates research and speeds up product development, which improves people’s lives and our planet. However, by looking at the scattered nature of information in all fields of research, from human disease genetics to sustainable product development, the enormous potential of data cannot be unlocked.
Disgenet, the world’s first and most extensive gene-disease association network, was founded in 2010 by world-renowned data researchers and bioinformaticians, backed by the prestigious academic institutions IMIM and UPF. Their state-of-the-art NLP (natural language processing) solution unlocks global data and reveals valuable insights from more than 30 millions articles. This enables researchers and pharmaceutical companies to fast-track their product development.
As Disgenet’s parent company, MedBioinformatics expands the platform’s potential to all fields, helping companies to develop more effective therapies, assessing health risks of chemicals or streamlining precision medicine.
krieen has been in charge of rebranding both the iconic “Disgenet” brand, as well as its parent company MedBioinformatics, through a powerful new brand positioning, eye-catching visuals and a brand new website. read less
As a company founded by world-renowned bioinformaticians and backed by academic institutions, MedBioinformatics and DISGENET have a crystal clear mission: Providing actionable and trustworthy data through NLP and AI to speed up safe and sustainable product development, thus improving people’s lives and the planet.
With an emotional trigger, “Data for tomorrow” captures this holistic vision of shaping the future of any research-driven industry.
As pioneers in the use of NLP and AI with our platform DISGENET, we needed a rebrand that stood out in the industry to pave the way for our next growth stage. We loved Krieen’s proposal from the very beginning. They did a remarkable job with our new tagline “Data for tomorrow”, as well as our new visuals and website, which beautifully capture our mission as a business and communicate our products and services in a powerful way to customers. Working with Krieen has been a delight!
With a technological and powerful personality, the new corporate identity for MedBioinformatics and Disgenet revolves around the “S” icon: an elegant shape that represents their very business: the journey from complex data into actionable insights. Its dynamism conveys the company’s brand positioning of moving towards the future: Data for tomorrow. It also mirrors their heritage in genomics, as it reminds of a DNA strand.
The Möbius strip is a magical, yet mathematically unique surface which has only one side. This astonishing property has been the inspiration for the new brand key visual for Medbioinformatics. In essence, what they do is transforming complex data into valuable and actionable insights for many different industries. Through NLP and AI-powered technologies they achieve something nearly impossible: bringing together data from millions of sources from around the world “on one single side” and turn them into value for research and business. Or, in the case of DISGENET, the platform generates millions of gene-disease associations.
Communication-wise, the world of data, NLP and science is usually rather dull and not especially creative. We gave MedBioinformatics an emotional trigger through an inspiring business mission, as well as a powerful key visual with their very own interpretation of the Möbius strip. Working with their team has been a real pleasure and we look forward to seeing them spreading “data for tomorrow” across the world!
